VIENNA, Aug. 6 (Xinhua) -- The First World Peace Choral Festival closed here on Friday with the newly-established "World Peace Choir" of 300 children from different countries singing the song "We Sing Together."
Directed by Gerald Wirth, artistic director of the Vienna Boys Choir, the 300 young choir singers from twelve children's choirs worldwide, including China Children's Choir, Prague Philharmonic Children's Choir, DO-RE-MI Kindergesangs Studio and the world-famous Vienna Boys Choir, pushed the festival to climax, winning thundering applause.
"We Sing Together" is the theme song of the festival written and composed by Wirth exclusively for the event.
During the four-day festival, the young singers presented their excellent performances at the Concert Hall of Vienna, the festival hall of University of Vienna, the UN Headquarters in Vienna, the Parliament Hall of City Vienna as well as in local concert halls and churches in the central European country.
Arranged by the festival's artistic committee, the World Peace Choir will tour globally to perform at major international festivals and important events.
The creation of the world peace choral festival is aimed at enhancing understanding and friendship among young people around the world and promoting international cultural exchanges, the committee said on its website (http://www.uniart-worldwide.com/).
